The Galeries Lafayette group is a privately-owned, family-run fashion retailer with a 130-year-deep heritage.

With retail sales of 4.5 billion euros, the Group today enjoys international recognition based on its emblematic brands: Galeries Lafayette, La Redoute, Louis Pion, Galeries Lafayette-Royal Quartz Paris and Mauboussin. It supports their ongoing development, drawing on their heritage, spurring their creativity and advancing their digital transition, with its property development arm Citynove and its contemporary art foundation Lafayette Anticipations—Fondation d’entreprise Galeries Lafayette.

Galfa

Galfa is a Motier subsidiary. It is one of the largest shareholders in the Carrefour Group, which ranks among the world’s leading retailers.

With over 180 years of history, La Redoute is the leading French e-commerce platform specializing in products for families and their homes.

 

Renowned for its expertise in designing and distributing its own brands in Home & Decoration (La Redoute Intérieurs, AMPM), in Fashion (La Redoute Collections), and for curating trendy brands through its marketplace, laredoute.fr ranks as the 4th most visited e-commerce site for Fashion and Home in France, with an average of nearly 20 million visits per month.

 

A pure e-commerce player, digital sales account for over 95% of the group’s revenue, which also operates 8 stores and 21 corners within Galeries Lafayette and BHV department stores.

 

La Redoute is present in more than 20 countries, with nearly 9 million active customers worldwide.

Motier Ventures is the Moulin family holding company’s vehicle invested in tech startups. Founded in 2021 by Guillaume Houzé, it invests up to 300,000 euros in seed capital in 25 to 30 start-ups a year, and reinjects up to one million euros in subsequent rounds.

 

With 100 companies in its portfolio to date, Motier Ventures is a key player in early-stage innovation financing, with a significant focus on AI, as nearly 40% of its investments are in this field.

 

In 2025, Motier Ventures opened La Maison, its new venue for AI entrepreneurs and their communities, in central Paris.

Motier estates

Motier Domaines owns two prominent estates in the Pomerol region: Château Beauregard (17.5 hectares) and Château Petit-Village (10.5 hectares).

 

Both estates are committed to responsible winegrowing, certified organic, and combine time-honored know-how with forward-looking innovation to unlock the full potential in their terroirs.

 

The Moulin family’s unwavering attention to detail and long-term perspective have established these two estates among the finest on the Pomerol plateau.

Other investments

Motier also holds a range of direct and indirect interestments across a variety of business sectors.

 

It has been the main shareholder in La Compagnie—an airline that is redefining business travel with all-business-class flights between Paris and New York—since its inception in 2013.

 

Motier is also involved in several of today’s most prominent investment funds, notably including Felix Capital LLP and Experienced Capital.
